Camp Coordinator

Mairie recently graduated from Emily Carr and is an interdisciplinary artist. She has been working, volunteering, and playing in the community for over 12 years and has been working with kids for the past 8 years as a camp guide during the summers and spring break. She loves to share knowledge, self-empowerment, active care, and freedom to play. She has a great passion for the arts, being active, the environment, actively helping others, and experiential, play-based learning.


Camp Guide  

Ophelia is pursuing a creating writing Associate's Degree at Douglas College. She has a passion for reading and writing. Ophelia enjoys outdoor crafts and sports too. She has worked with children (2 -16 years old) in an athletic environment as a gymnastics coach for both competitive and recreational gymnasts for many years. Ophelia aims to achieve an energetic and positive environment for everyone involved and hopes to inspire the young individuals around her. 


Camp Guide

Ryan, is a graduate of Gleneagle Secondary School,  he is a passionate individual with diverse interests. With a love for the gym, swimming, basketball, stop motion, and martial arts, he possess a wide range of skills. His experience as a lifeguard including accumulating around 500 volunteer hours, demonstrates his commitment to helping others. With aspirations of becoming an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery in the future, he hopes to provide excellent care for each camper.


Camp Guide

Zaiden graduated with the class of 2023 after moving from Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2021. He is a flutist active within the musical scene hoping to take his studies further to become a studio musician. It is a lifelong goal to be a positive impact to those around him, drawing inspiration from the people who have left an impression on him. He hopes to contribute to the Rainforest Adventure Camps by letting his passion lead him to helping kids cherish their youth and leave camp with unforgettable memories!


Camp Guide

Christy is currently pursuing a diploma in Respiratory Therapy at Thompson Rivers University. Previously, she completed her degree in Kinesiology at UBC and has worked with kids as a recreational basketball coach for almost five years. Passionate about working with kids and helping others live healthy, active lives, she strives to create a positive, engaging environment where children are able to have fun while being active. Christy loves the great outdoors of BC – you can find her running and exploring new hiking trails every summer. She also loves baking, cooking, and solving jigsaw puzzles.


Camp Guide

Ambar is a class of 2023 high school graduate who recently moved to BC from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Interested in humanities and social sciences, they will be starting their undergraduate at SFU in Anthropology this September and are looking to pursue a career in teaching. Ambar loves working with kids and she is an avid nature lover. They are also passionate about reading, music, cats, and boba. They worked with kids before graduating and moving and she is excited to get back to working and having fun with kids again!



Camp Administrator

Mackenzie provides administrative support to the Rainforest Adventure Camps team. She is currently attending Douglas College pursuing a Behaviour Intervention Certificate. Mackenzie is a passionate advocate for mental health and has over six years of experience working with children, youth, and adults in the mental health industry. She loves playing video games, baking, and reading in her free time. She loves discovering and exploring the Tri-cities with her daughter, Rose. 


Camp Administrator

JD has worked with Rainforest Adventure Camps since 2019. Before that, he worked with other non-profit camps, community centres, and theatres for over a decade. He is passionate about creating positive change in the world and developing safe and supportive communities for all to thrive in. JD loves being in nature enjoying outdoor recreation or meditation. He also enjoys festivals, theatre, comedy, sports, soccer, hockey, swimming, and wellness. 


Camp Administrator

Ayah is a student at UBC studying Marketing and Human Resources. She has been ​working and volunteering at after-school and summer camp programs since high school and is passionate about empowering youth while having fun. Ayah enjoys spending her free time in nature, eating great food, learning and traveling with friends and family.

We are grateful to our volunteer board of directors led by six women as well as the close to one hundred people who have volunteered with us over the years. We are appreciative of everyone who has ever worked with us.
